Instructions/Deadline Dates for Surgical Oncology Match - 2009

Please note: It is best to begin the application process about a year before your anticipated date of entry into the fellowship.

To apply for a fellowship:

(1) Download the SSO General Surgical Oncology Fellowship Application and send it to the institutions you are interested in attending. The deadline date for institutions to receive your application is July 22, 2009. Also, at the same time, send a copy of the application form only (no attachments are needed) to the Society of Surgical Oncology Executive Office at the address listed below.

(2) Set up interviews with those institutions you are interested in by contacting them directly. Please see the 2009 Surgical Oncology Fellowship Interview Dates.

(3) Once you have determined the institutions you are interested in attending and have interviewed at them, please list them on the SSO Match Program Application and send it to the above address along with $75.00 (US dollars) to arrive no later than September 22, 2009. See detailed SSO Match Program instructions included with the SSO Match Program Application.

(4) Results of the match will be announced via e-mail to all applicants on October 19, 2009.

September 22, 2009: SSO General Surgical Oncology Fellowship Application, SSO Match Program Application, and $75.00 (US dollars) fee due to SSO

October 19, 2009: Results of the match announced via e-mail to all applicants
