2008 Clinical Investigator Award in Breast Cancer Research Recipient

 

The Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) has presented its first $100,000 Clinical Investigator Award (CIA) in Breast Cancer Research to Dr. Tari A. King, Assistant Attending Surgeon/Breast Service, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY.

The Award, funded bySusan G. Komen for the Cure®, is the first SSO CIA designated specifically for breast cancer research.

The CIA will go toward funding Dr. King's proposal, "A Genetic Analysis of the Invasive Breast Cancer Risk Associated with Lobular Carcinoma in Situ." The $100,000 award is for a two-year time period ($50,000/year), commencing October 1, 2008.

The SSO expresses its sincere appreciation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® for its funding of the award.
