SSO-Approved Breast Oncology Fellowship Programs

The Society of Surgical Oncology is dedicated to providing the highest level of clinical education to those who participate in SSO-approved programs.

In an effort to standardize the breast fellowship training curriculum and make the application and acceptance process more structured, the Society of Surgical Oncology, in collaboration with the American Society of Breast Disease and the American Society of Breast Surgeons, has developed comprehensive guidelines for training breast fellows. To date, 32 standing breast oncology training programs have confirmed that they meet the criteria outlined in the guidelines and have been site inspected. Once a program successfully passes an inspection, it is considered an official “SSO-approved training program.”

Any fellow who completes his/her fellowship in one of the participating programs will receive a certificate from the Society of Surgical Oncology.
