2016 JSGS Observership

Claudius Conrad, MD, PhD has been selected for the 2016 JSGS Observership in Japan

 SSO members were offered the opportunity by the Japanese Society of  Gastroenterological Surgery (JSGS) to apply for a visiting observership in Japan.  A number of excellent and competitive applications were received and Claudius  Conrad, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgical Oncology at  The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, was selected as the  recipient of the observership.

JSGS will provide Dr. Conrad with a stipend to assist with travel and accommodation costs during the duration of the observership. For two weeks in July 2016, he will visit two to three pre-eminent Japanese Surgical Oncology Institutions and observe procedure(s). Following the institution visits, Dr. Conrad will then attend the 71st General Meeting of the Japanese Society of Gastroenterological Surgery, which will take place in Tokushima-City, Tokushima, Japan, from July 14- 16, 2016.
