2019 KSSO Call for Applications!

SSO members are being offered an opportunity by the Korean Society of Surgical Oncology (KSSO) to apply for a visiting observership in Korea. This observership will take place in February 2019.

This opportunity includes:

  • A stipend of $3,000 USD to assist with travel and accommodations expenses
  • Complimentary registration to the KSSO Annual Meeting, which takes place on February 22-23, 2019 in Seoul, Korea
  • One year of complimentary KSSO membership
  • An opportunity to visit a specialized Korean medical center and be matched with a mentor with shared specialized interests

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must:

  • Submit an application & curriculum vitae
  • Be an SSO Active or Active International member, in good standing
  • Specialize in Upper GI or Colorectal Cancer
  • Be an up-and-coming young surgical oncologist, 45 years old or younger.
  • Be able to travel to Korea in February 2019

Key Dates

February 20-21, 2019 Arrival in Korea
February 22-23, 2019 Attendance at KSSO annual meeting & presentation
February 25, 2019~ Observership at the mentor’s institution
June 1, 2019 Submission of final feedback report
