Prominent surgical oncologist Rajiv Datta, MD, [SSO Member] was the honoree of the Queens-Long Island Chapter of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPIQLI) 16th Annual Gala Convention.

Dr. Datta, chair of the department of surgery and medical director of the Gertrude & Louis Feil Cancer Center at South Nassau Communities Hospital, was cited by the AAPIQLI for his leadership, accomplishments and excellence as a cancer surgeon.

"I am deeply honored and humbled that my peers and friends have chosen me to be the honoree of the AAPIQLI gala," said Dr. Datta. "While I strive for excellence in all that I do, my successes and the quality of the care my patients receive are a direct result of the help and support that I receive from my family and the team of oncologists, nurses, technicians, and administrators who I work with on a daily basis at South Nassau."
