Enhance Your Clinical Trial Design Skills by Attending The Vail Workshop
The 2020 AACR/ASCO Methods in Clinical Cancer Research Workshop (also known as the Vail Workshop) is an intensive workshop in the essentials of effective clinical trial designs of therapeutic interventions in the treatment of cancer for clinical fellow and junior faculty clinical researchers in all oncology subspecialties, including radiation and surgical oncology and radiology. This meeting takes place in Vail, Colorado annually. The 2020 meeting will be held July 25-31 at the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort.
Beyond teaching trial design and the challenges related to clinical trials, the course seeks to inspire participants to devote all or a portion of their future careers to some aspect of clinical research. Application to the Vail Workshop is a competitive process and is open clinical fellows and junior faculty in all oncology subspecialties, including radiation and surgical oncology and radiology.
SSO recommends Complex General Surgical Oncology and Breast Oncology Fellows to apply for a position at the course in order to be eligible for the prestigious SSO Vail Workshop Award. The award will sponsor the cost of attendance.
Selection of the Vail Workshop Award will be based on active candidate membership in the SSO, merit of the clinical trial proposed, and demonstration of commitment to research in surgical oncology. Complete details will be available once the Vail Workshop applications are open.
