SSO’s Website Wins W3 Award

W3 Silver award for SSO websiteThe Society of Surgical Oncology’s (SSO) website, Surgonc.org, received a 2019 W3 Award in the category, General Websites – Associations. The W³ Awards celebrates digital excellence by honoring outstanding Websites, Web Marketing, Video, Mobile Sites/Apps & Social content.

SSO’s newly designed website was introduced as part of the Society’s new brand identity, which was launched during SSO 2019 in San Diego, CA. The website features intuitive navigation, easy access to online education and member community features, as well as oncology-related news.

Winning entries for The W³ Awards are selected by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts. The AIVA oversees all judging and provides strategic direction for The W³ Awards. The AIVA is a membership-based organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. AIVA members include executives from organizations such as AgencyNet, AvatarLabs, Big Spaceship, Block Media, Conde Nast, Disney, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Fry Hammond Barr, Microsoft, MTV Networks, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Wired, Yahoo! and many others.

Website entries were judged on the following factors: creativity, usability, navigation, functionality, visual design, and ease of use. Congratulations to members of SSO’s Website Development Task Force for guiding the development of this site.
