Get Ready to Collaborate and Share Wisdom at SSO 2021 – Early Bird Rates Available through February 15

The ability to leverage collective knowledge and wisdom to solve health care challenges is powerful in its potential. Every breakthrough and advancement in oncology treatments and protocols is made possible through a confluence of inspired experts and visionaries. The SSO 2021 Scientific Program Committee and the Annual Meeting Reimagination Steering Task Force have worked tirelessly to shape this year’s virtual meeting into a more inclusive, engaging and streamlined format.

Sessions and Symposia for Many Interests

This year’s program features ten symposia sessions that span an array of topics including the global impact of COVID-19 on surgical oncology, future directions for the treatment of peritoneal surface malignancies, treatment updates for cholangiocarcinoma, case-based discussions in colorectal cancer and more. Review the conference preview brochure for a complete listing.

The Great Debates are back for SSO 2021 on the virtual SSO HUB Theater stage! As befitting a great debate, leading surgeons will engage in a spirited meeting of the minds to inform, lay out well-reasoned arguments and ultimately strive to persuade audience members to embrace their points of view. But, above all else, the SSO 2021 Great Debates will challenge all to think about new ways to improve the lives of patients affected by cancer. Thursday’s line-up features two debates: “Resection of Disappearing Colorectal Liver Metastases” and “Short-Course Radiation Therapy for Rectal Cancer.” Friday’s schedule presents two additional topics: “Aggressive Surgical Resection Should be Performed for Patients with Gastric Adenocarcinoma with Positive Peritoneal Cytology that is Subsequently Cleared with Chemotherapy” and “Sentinel Node Biopsy is or is Not Beneficial for pT1b/pT2a Tumor.”

This year’s virtual meeting also introduces exciting new elements. Visit the SSO HUB Theater and view industry spotlight sessions and forums, in addition to non-CME content developed and presented by SSO faculty. The virtual SSO HUB offers the latest information on new products developed by industry. You may also participate in the SSO 2021 Contest where you may collect points for attending and participating in virtual meeting sessions and activities. You’ll be able to see how you rank against colleagues and those with the highest number of points will receive special prize perks!

SSO 2021 promises to be a key milestone in our ongoing efforts to leverage the collective wisdom of the SSO community to improve care for patients affected by cancer. Early-bird registration rates are available through February 15. Register today and learn more at SSO2021.org.
