In addition to teaching trial design and the challenges related to clinical trials, the course seeks to inspire participants to devote all or a portion of their future careers to some aspect of clinical research. Application to the Workshop is a competitive process and is open to clinical fellows and junior faculty in all oncology subspecialties, including radiation and surgical oncology and radiology.

Additional information on the workshop and how to apply can be found on the Workshop website.

SSO Workshop Award

SSO Complex General Surgical Oncology and Breast Oncology Fellows may apply for a position at the course in order to be eligible for the SSO Workshop Award. The award will sponsor the cost of attendance (including workshop registration fees + financial assistance toward travel).

Selection of the award will be based on workshop acceptance, merit of the clinical trial proposed (as selected by the workshop faculty), and SSO membership. Applications for the workshop are now open. The deadline for submissions is March 14, 2023.

Questions regarding the Workshop Award can be sent to Pam Hayden, Assistant Director of Research & Quality Programs, pamhayden@surgonc.org.
